The Power of One
Susan Diehl- The power of one: one voice, one direction, one result. I am speaking of the power of one team--aligned and guiding those around them swiftly, purposefully and cohesively. The results of sustained alignment are dramatic. How often have you seen teams performing at this highest level of alignment--not often I suspect. The reasons are varied:

1. No shared objectives;
2. Highly
political;
3. Low trust;
4. Inability to reach agreement;
5. Lack of leadership;
6. Lack of discipline.

I could go on as to how misalignment happens on a team.

Loss of Public Education Ombudsman May be an Issue in Washington, D...
Tom Kosakowski-The election of school board members in Washington, DC has returned attention to the public schools Ombuds Office that was shuttered in August 2009. Some school officials and activists say restoring the Office of the Ombudsman for Public Education is a crucial aspect of reform implementation for the next school board.

In October 2007, DC Mayor Adrian M. Fenty appointed Tonya Vidal Kinlow as the first Ombuds for public education. Under her leadership, the Ombuds program hired three staff members and handled thousands of inquiries.
