The Columbian Peace Process: Lessons Learned

Prof. Chalie Pillsbury of Quinnipiac University School of Law reports from a unique conference:

The 16th Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates was held in Bogota, Colombia from February 2-4, 2017; the first time this summit had ever been held in Latin America. It brought together 27 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates (12 organizations, 15 individuals), over 500 students (and their teachers) from 50 schools and universities, 25 countries and five continents.      Read more about the conference on Indisputably.org

A Grand Unified Theory of Negotiation?

Can the negotiation field identify a grand unified theory of negotiation that applies to all situations – or do specific contexts need their own separate approaches? A group of negotiation professors, including the Noam Ebner of the Werner Institute at Creighton University, team up to tackle this question in a new article.

NYSBA / ACCTM National Championship ADR Law Student Writing Competition

The Dispute Resolution Section of the New York State Bar Association and the American College of Civil Trial Mediators are proud to announce the inauguration of the NYSBA/ACCTM National Championship Alternative Dispute Resolution Law Student Writing Competition.

A $10,000 cash prize will be awarded to the winning submittal as judged by the Editorial Board of the ACCTM American Journal of Mediation along with select Fellows of the College and members of the NYSBA Dispute Resolution Section. Winning entries will be published in the ACCTM Journal and the NYSBA New York Dispute Resolution Lawyer.

The Werner Institute and the 2040 Initiative
at the Creighton University School of Law
invite you to a symposium exploring how the 1967 U.S. Supreme Court decision of Loving v. Virginia has influenced society institutionally, demographically and relationally. Participants will also develop strategies for moving from thought to action by building relationships across difference.
