What is it about a story that makes people so intrigued?  This past Friday I posted the above status on Facebok; Once upon a time...  I didn't know what I was hoping to accomplish, or what was going to happen with that post, but I just put it out there.  Then a little while later I wrote, "There was a goat..." Well, let me tell you...that's all I had to do.  All of a sudden we had a story on our hands.  30 comments later I read over the story... No...I read over our story and thought, we all have a story to share (even silly ones like this...)

As a mediator, I get the privilege of hearing others' stories.  We all have one, some are similar, but all are unique.   We learn a lot from stories, we can learn plenty about others (ex. who they are, where their from, what they do, etc.) and we can find out where we came from and where we want to go.

Sometimes I have found that telling my story, I have learned a lot about myself as well.  Sometimes, when I'm telling my story I can take a step back and see the situation from a third person's perspective.  Sometimes, I even learn something from that experience.

Take some time this week to tell yourself your story.

Tell it as true as you can (don't fudge the details...you'll know if you are lying...) and just let it hang in the air.  Own your story, don't let it own you.  Let me know how it goes.

What's your story?
