Many parents and their teenage sons and daughters are unfamiliar with the red flags that signal a pattern of dating abuse and violence. In this special one-hour episode, you will learn about the cycle of teen dating abuse, recognize the signals in your teenage daughter or son, and learn what you need to do to start the courageous conversation with your adolescent. Bobbi Sudberry is an expert on teen dating violence as a result of losing her daughter Kaity to such a deadly relationship. She along with Vicki Owen and her daughter, Addison Naugle will share their personal stories of teen dating violence along with strategies to avoid these unhealthy relationships.

Addison Naugle is a young Prosecutor with Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. During her time as a Prosecutor, Naugle has been exposed to many victims that have suffered in violent relationships. Further, Naugle was the victim of teen dating violence when a young male classmate drove Naugle into the desert and physically assaulted her. Since then, Naugle has served as a professional speaker on personal safety and teen dating violence, discussing her experience, as well as awareness and discussion points that are important between parents and their young teens.

Vickie Owen has been working as an International Crime Prevention Officer for the past 15 years for the Gilbert Police Department in Arizona as well as a Technical Trainer for the National Crime Prevention Council. For the past 8 years, Vickie served as the President elect for the Arizona Crime Prevention Association, Inc. hosting and speaking at hundreds of trainings both locally and internationally on a variety of topics and has created a national police communications program called Bolo Cop.

Bobbi Sudberry is an accomplished mother of five, wife, and Executive Director of Kaity’s Way, a non-profit corporation she Co-Founded in honor of her murdered daughter, Kaitlyn Marie Sudberry. Bobbi shares Kaity’s Story to bring public awareness to the realities of teen dating violence. Since 2010 Bobbi has received several awards and recognition from various organizations as well as Government, State and County agencies for her dedication to crime victims, the important passage of Kaity’s Law in Arizona and efforts to bring awareness and put an end to teen dating violence.
