The International Ombudsman Association holds its sixth annual conference at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower, April 1-6, 2011. Organizers expect the event will draw about 400 practitioners and others interested in the field.  Keynote speakers will be:

• Alicia C. Shepard, Ombudsman for National Public Radio (but not an Organizational Ombuds)
• John S. Barkat, Assistant Secretary-General and Ombudsman for the United Nations
• Michael Moffitt, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Director of ADR Center at the University of Oregon Law School

The conference is preceded by several training programs for novice and experienced Ombuds. Read more at the IOA conference website.
