Illinois Circuit Court Judge Hon. C. Stanley Austin (Ret.) Joins JAMS

Chicago – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. C. Stanley Austin (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Austin will be based in the JAMS Chicago Resolution Center. He will serve as an arbitrator and mediator for Family Law and Personal Injury/Torts disputes.

Judge Austin served for nearly 20 years in the Domestic Relations and Law Divisions of the Illinois Judicial Circuit Court and also spent three years as Presiding Judge and Acting Presiding Judge of the Domestic Relations Division. Judge Austin has managed, tried and settled hundreds of family law matters and is skilled at getting to the heart of financial issues and dealing with the emotional factors that create obstacles to settlement.

While on the bench, Judge Austin trained and appointed custody mediators in the family law division where custody and/or visitation issues had not been resolved and mediations were mandatory. He was also in the first group of lawyer arbitrators trained and approved for

Du Page County's Mandatory Arbitration Program in March 1989. He served as an arbitrator for three years before ascending to the bench in October 1992.

Judge Austin graduated with his B.A. cum laude from University of Illinois, Chicago and earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
