Join Jeanne Dexter and Paul Schweinler, to learn how parents, teachers, and other adults, can start conversations with their child that allow them to talk about what concerns them, express what they need, and build strength and confidence to face a new school year.
Jeanne A. Dexter is the Founder and Co-Creator of The Talking Jar Series. She is the proud mother of two incredible grown children. Jeanne has worked with children books, toys and games for most of her life including managing an educational children’s book and toy store and is currently writing two children’s books. She is a public speaker and trainer, educating parents and children on effective communication and connecting. Jeanne along with her partner, Paul J. Schweinler, create workshops and seminars training children and parents how to talk to each other about “real talk” in a non-intimidating and fun way. Jeanne’s passion is to change the world by creating harmony and balance within the family, the neighborhood and entire communities by effectively communicating!
Paul J Schweinler is, among other things, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Diplomat of the American Psychotherapy Association (DAPA) and a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress. Paul is an approved instructor with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator and Florida Supreme Court Approved Primary Mediation Instructor. He has developed keen skills in working with troubled teens, troubled couples and troubled parents. He has presented and provided crisis response services both nationally and internationally. Working with Jeanne Dexter in the development of The Talking Jar Series has been one of his greatest delights. It his hope that The Talking Jar Series will help bring people of all ages together and have a significant impact in mitigating and healing many of the conflicts and hurts which occur between couples, family members, victims of abuse and domestic terrorism (including bullying).
Stephen Kotev is a Washington D.C. based conflict resolution consultant offering mediation, negotiation, conflict analysis, facilitation, training and somatic education to private and government clients. He holds a Master of Science degree from George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and a black belt in the Japanese martial art of Aikido. He is a former employee of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution, the Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Resolution and the D.C. Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency as an ADR Specialist.
