The Pasta Wars, our Prisoner’s Dilemma simulation-game, will be appearing in one of the negotiation field’s leading teaching books: NEGOTIATION: READINGS, EXERCISES, AND CASES (edited by Roy Lewicki, Bruce Barry, and David Saunders), soon to come out in a 7th edition.

The 6th edition included the AuraCall and Live8 simulations, which many of you out there have had the pleasure (?) of experiencing – they’ll be in the new edition as well.

The Pasta Wars went oddly viral this spring, with hundreds of negotiation trainers downloading and experimenting with it in class – and often writing us very nice letters about it. Yifat and I are very excited that this effect might now be replicated in academic courses. Taking over the simulation world, one helping at a time?

Our thanks to all of you out there - students, former students, teachers and trainers - who helped us stir the pot and improve the seasoning.

As one who brutally learned the hard way how cut-throat his classmates can be (heh!) when slinging the pasta contracts, I'm so glad to see that this has made it into wider circulation. It's a great educational tool, among the many such tools I learned at Werner!
