This was posted earlier today in the Loree Reinsurance and Arbitration Law Forum:
Readers are excruciatingly aware of the amount of time and energy we expend on what seems at first blush to be a relatively arcane area of the law: practice and procedure under the Federal Arbitration Act. It is a…

I began publishing the
Ombuds Blog in November 2006, shortly after began working as an ombudsperson for UCLA. I had previously worked as an attorney, handling attorney discipline and legal malpractice cases, and I was familiar with rich array of resources for attorneys. I quickly realized, on the other hand, that the organizational ombuds field was still evolving into a profession. Although the field had developed significantly in just a…

I hope this is the right forum to bring up this topic and inspire some exchange. I am a person who likes to utilize power point when I do workshops in conflict resolution, at least to keep me speaking in a linear manner. So what types of images do you like to…

I must reveal my bias up front. I am fascinated with the business organization. After many years as a lawyer, looking at business from the outside in, I wanted to know what makes it tick and why certain organizations are successful and the vast majority of others fail. It was in this context that I came upon my current philosophy of a successful business organization:…
