What is your ADR experience? (trainings and education)
Luis is a negotiation and consensus building consultant and coach, facilitator, mediator, and trainer. Luis helps people and organizations advance their interests, improve relations and deal with conflict more effectively. He helps diverse organizations and stakeholders with challenging situations, teach people how to better handle disagreements, mediate complex and cross-cultural disputes, and work with clients who want to negotiate more confidently, reach successful agreements, be satisfied with negotiation results, improve business/working relations, and design systems to deal with internal and external stakeholders.
Recent work includes assessing multiple stakeholders’ views across government, civil society, and the private sector in Peru regarding the creation of a government environmental agency and exploring whether and how public policy dialogue, negotiated decision-making, and agreement building strategies could help strengthen the government agency’s political viability and effectiveness. Assessment of Peruvian Prime Minister Office’s interests in building government’s conflict management capabilities and designing systems to early identify social conflicts and to monitor follow through of agreements. Recent work also includes the assessment of local governments’ interests and the design of intervention strategies and capacity building programs in the Andean region of Peru. Luis has worked assessing the needs and challenges of a manufacturing company working with Hispanic employees in the Southern Kentucky area to implement specific initiatives. He has assessed and designed dispute resolution systems for internal and external stakeholders. Luis also contributed with an initiative to build capacity and design a dispute resolution system in the educational sector with a high school in Nashville, TN, and has collaborated with the development of a new vision for mediation development in the State of Tennessee.
Luis is Chair-Elect of the Association for Conflict Resolution’s International Section, serves as Director of Conflict Prevention & Resolution for the Peruvian American Business Council (NY, USA), is the Latin America Coordinator for the ACR’s Commercial Section, and serves in the steering committee of the International Energy & Natural Resources Committee of the ABA’s International Law Section. He is also associate director of Optimizza Asociados, a Peru-based organization specializing in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement, and collaborates with the Consensus Building Institute. Luis previously practiced law in Peru in the private sector and worked with the Peruvian government. He holds Masters Degrees in conflict management and organizational and cross-cultural communication, obtained his J.D. from the University of Lima (Peru), and has extensive training in negotiation and conflict management from CMI International Group, Western Kentucky University, Lipscomb University, and the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. His written work has included articles in the State Bar of Texas’ Alternatives Resolutions Newsletter, the ABA’s Mergers, Acquisitions, & Joint Ventures Newsletter, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce HR Notes, the ABA’s International Investment & Development Newsletter, the ACR’s Workplace Section News, the ACR’s Commercial Section’s International Focus, and diverse websites.

Luis Oré es el Presidente 2010-2011 de la Association for Conflict Resolution’s International Section (EEUU), Director de Prevención y Resolución del Conflictos para el Peruvian American Business Council (EEUU), Coordinador para Latinoamérica de la Sección Comercial de ACR, y miembro del comité directivo del Comité Internacional de Energía y Recursos Naturales de la American Bar Association’s International Law Section. El ha sido Presidente del Comité de Desarrollo Internacional de la ACR’s International Section (EEUU). Luis Oré es director asociado para Optimizza Asociados, empresa peruana especializada en comunicación estratégica e involucramiento de actores y colabora con el Consensus Building Institute. Anteriormente, ejerció el derecho en el Perú trabajando en el sector privado así como con el gobierno peruano. El Dr. Oré tiene másteres en gestión de conflictos y en comunicación organizacional e intercultural, recibo el titulo de abogado del la Universidad de Lima (Perú), y tiene amplia formación en negociaciones y gestión de conflictos por CMI International Group, Western Kentucky University, Lipscomp University y el Programa de Negociación de Harvard Law School.
