ADRhub.com has a number of features on Charles Howard. On March 9, 2010, Jeff Thompson provided an interview he conducted with Howard, which covered different aspect of the book, his motivation and how it can help you-- if you are an ombuds, conflict professional, or someone interested in creating an ombuds office for your university or organization. The full interview can be found [here].
Prior to the interview, there was an extensive press release on Howard's book, The Organizational Ombudsman: Origins, Roles and Operations--A Legal Guide, shared by Jeff Thompson on February 13, 2010. Find the full press release for the book[here].
Shortly after the book was released, Michael Kilpatrick provided a brief book review on ADRhub.com. Michael mentioned the "book was a wealth of information from history, to policy, to process and technique. The tenets of the ombudsman functions are clearly explained with the real world in mind." Michael also said very distinctly, it's a "must read." See Michael's book review[here].
Chuck Howard's book really is the only legal guide to organizational ombuds and the de facto textbook. He's putting together a decent book tour. (You can find my review of his book for the Journal of IOA at http://www.shipmangoodwin.com/files/upload/TomKosakowski.pdf.)
