Upcoming Webinar “Online Dispute Resolution in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities” – Seeking Panelists To Share Their Experience and Lessons Learned

According to this Pew Research Center Survey - http://goo.gl/9r3bsh - “In a few short years, the proliferation of mobile phone networks has transformed communications in sub-Saharan Africa. It has also allowed Africans to skip the landline stage of development and jump right to the digital age.” For example, “Today, cell phones are as common in South Africa and Nigeria as they are in the United States.”

True, such widespread availability of mobile devices can create the perfect conditions for Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) to take off in Africa. But it is also true that technology alone is not enough. It takes a lot of time and education for new concepts (like ODR) to be understood and accepted by the public.

For this reason, Virtual Mediation Lab and ODR Africa Network are organizing a free 1-hour webinar, which is titled “Online Dispute Resolution in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities” and will take place in August. Its goal is quite simple. We want to give ODR practitioners and organizations in Africa the opportunity to share their experience and lessons learned. Hopefully, what they are doing and learning in their country can be useful to other countries as well.

Practitioners and organizations who are interested to present their ODR project in Africa are invited to fill out this Online Application Form by Friday, August 12, 2016 - http://goo.gl/dXz2Z1
