Summer 2011 40-hour Divorce Mediation Training: ACR Approved

Skills and substantive knowledge are both essential to becoming a competent and effective divorce mediator. This intensive program incorporates both elements in a highly interactive ACR approved program. Using a wide range of methodology to address all learning styles, the highly experienced mediators/trainers provide participants with the information and tools necessary to begin their journey into the field of divorce mediation. In addition to a comprehensive practice and reference manual, the program includes practice forms honed by our trainers by years of professional practice. These forms are downloadable and readily adaptable to your practice. Links to professional associations, information about continuing education opportunities, internships/practicum opportunities, and much more is included.

What does the program cover?

In 40 hours, we must cover the basic theory and skills of mediating, understanding the issues related to the family and divorce, and the substantive knowledge that divorce mediators must have in order to assist couples in making informed decisions about the future that will serve as a basis for their divorce in court. In addition, topical issues and issues of importance to divorce mediators are covered.

 This program is co-sponsored by the Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association. The IMHCA is licensed by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation to provide 40 CE's for LSWs, LCSWs, LPCs, LCPCs, and LMFTs.

 This course or activity was approved for a Total of 40 General MCLE Credits by the Illinois MCLE Board. Of that total, 6 Credits were approved as Professional Responsibility Credits by the Illinois Commission on Professionalism.
