The Office of Collaborative Action and Dispute Resolution in the Office
of the Secretary is seeking a candidate to become the Department’s
Senior Coordinator for DOI’s integrated system for managing conflict and
resolving disputes in the workplace known as CORE PLUS.
If selected for this position, you will be working for the U.S.
Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Deputy Assistant
Secretary-Technology, Information and Business Services, Collaborative
Action and Dispute Resolution Office, located in Washington, DC.
Salary Information: GS-13: $89,033 - $115,742 per annum; GS-14:
$105,211 – $136,771 per annum. First time hires to the Federal
government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This is a full-time career/career conditional appointment. The position has a full performance level of GS-14.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one FULL year
specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with
the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully
the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the
position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience are: work as
a program manager or senior level third party neutral for an ADR
program or conflict management system; provide training on conflict
management, communication and ADR processes and skills for managers and
employees; demonstrated ability to analyze interpersonal and
intra-organizational conflict throughout an organization and/or
Department and suggest productive ways to manage or resolve the
conflict; ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with diverse persons at all levels of an organization and
lead collaborative team efforts.

as a subject matter expert on conflict management and alternative
dispute resolution programs and processes; providing communication and
conflict management training for all levels of managers and supervisors
throughout a large nation-wide organization regarding the most effective
approaches for identifying and managing conflicts and resolving
disputes in the workplace; lead the implementation of an integrated
conflict management system or an ADR program; provide individual
consultation and assistance on conflict management options or dispute
resolution approaches; manage a roster of professional service providers
such as mediators, facilitators, coaches or trainers; coach senior
leaders and managers on communication, conflict management and
collaborative approaches to problem-solving; and track, evaluate and
report on progress implementing a national program or system.
