University Ombuds who manage or work with campus mediation programs or who are considering creating one, should read an article by Cynthia A. Savage, a Practitioner in Residence and adjunct professor at the University of Denver Conflict Resolution Institute.  Savage's paper offers a comprehensive set of guidelines for designing an effective mediation clinic, including administrative, pedagogic and practice aspects.

The paper, "Recommendations Regarding Establishment of a Mediation Clinic," includes useful examples of community settings for programs and practicum structures of nine graduate programs in dispute resolution/conflict resolution.
