I want to thank Leah and Tom for participating in this radio show. I was very interested by several topics that were discussed throughout and I had some open ended questions that I would like to ask.

Tom briefly spoke on the effect anonymity can play in both creating positive and negative spaces in online disputes or discourse in general. Outside the realm of social networking/media, when a mediation, for example is taking place, is anonymity considered to be a positive or negative aspect of the process, and how specifically could it be played to the benefit of resolving a conflict?

The concept of "opinion spaces" was also touched upon in this radio-show, the discussion led to the point that although the internet and web opens up vast channels and avenues through which nearly everyone can voice or see different opinions, these spaces however still develop in which people surround themselves with only limited points of views and other things that put one in a "bubble". Do opinion spaces foster confrontational or adversarial actions when, maybe, someone who isn't part of that opinion or outlook enters the dialogue with a different point of view?

Lastly, the term structural determinism was talked about and I was interested in approaches Leah and Tom had to this idea. I particularly like the idea of having a relfective tool within online discourses, something to look up at and report how the convorsation is moving along. I think that something like this could have a huge role in the technology side of fostering better online environments. Further, I believe Leah touched on the lack of feedback that is present in online spaces and how the structure of those spaces determined that to an extent. Other than reflective tools or feedback loops, what are some other ways in which we can influence the civility and appropriateness of online interactions and disputes through changing the structure of social media sites as well as any site that involves online interaction?

Thank you again for hosting this radio show and thanks to Tom and Leah for the great insight.
