Services(DHHS), Food and Drug Administration(FDA), Office of the
Commissioner(OC), Office of the Director, Office of Equal Employment

Major Duties:
If selected for this position you will -
Serve as a neutral and independent third party for the stakeholders.
The Ombudsman serve as a dispute resolution practitioner whose major
function is to provide confidential and informal assistance to managers and
employees in resolving work-related issues and disputes.
Develop a collaborative relationship with FDA leadership to provide and
facilitate fair, open and creative atmosphere within the Agency. The
result of these collaboration results in the heightened ability to recruit
and retain some of the most highly regarded employees in the world.
Ensure that the design and operation of FDA loops-back from formal processes
to ADR problem-solving options, and loops-forward so that customers can at
any stage choose the appropriate formal adjudicative process for their
issues.
Qualifications:
You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has
equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to
perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is
typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To
be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to
at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Government.
Examples of specialize experience at the GS-14 level may include:
Ability to communicate in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of conflict resolution,
negotiation, conciliation, and mediation.
Ability to establish contacts and develop working relationships.
Expert knowledge of program areas related to discrimination complaint
processing.
