The Department of Energy is looking for an Associate Ombudsman at the GS-15 level.
DUTIES:
As an Associate Ombudsman, you will:
*Serve as a confidential, neutral, independent, informal resource for preventing, addressing and resolving conflict;
*Identify and provide options to address systemic problems and policies affecting the Department and its subcomponents;
*Provide options to avoid and resolve highly complex and often very high-level workplace conflicts and issues;
*Informally seek the resolution of problems and differences between staff, supervisors/managers, executives, and other Departmental officials (career and political) and effectively facilitate problem resolution and prevention;
*Maintain statistical data, analyze systemic problems and identify patterns of conflict, emerging policy issues and recurring problems;
*Maintain ongoing review and analysis of lines of organizational communication, providing options to senior leaders on how best to continue effective, open lines of communication between staff, supervisors/managers, and executives;
*Respond to inquiries and requests for information from Department staff, supervisors/managers, and executives on a wide range of organizational and/or employee-related issues; and
*Participate in and represent the Office of the Ombudsman in high level meetings and projects with appropriate organizations that are involved in activities which can impact or expand the effectiveness of the Office of the Ombudsman.
