Thinking, Working and Communicating Visually
Research tells us that 2/3 of all people are visual learners. What does this mean? It means that when you present without imagery – just a lecture, with no visuals – you’re reaching less than half of your audience. With this in mind, ImageThink will teach the basic principles of visual recording which you can use in meetings, presentations,
strategic planning work, and other sessions where people gather to exchange ideas. Adding visuals into a conversation spurs creativity, enhances collaboration, and ensures clearer and more effective communication. Can you only draw a stick figure? No problem! ImageThink will focus on how simple visuals can be used to support and clarify complex ideas. No prior experience is necessary. You will be on your feet with a marker in hand for the duration of the workshop. Get ready to have a lot of fun and learn some valuable collaboration skills. Learn more about ImageThink and graphic facilitation at imagethink.net.

Workshop Content:

  • The history of graphic recording
  • Drawing techniques
  • Listening and synthesizing skills
  • Simple icons, and visual tips
  • Techniques for organizing information spatially
  • Visual metaphors

What You Will Learn:

  • Improve the quality of your communication by using visuals
  • Increased confidence with a pen and marker
  • Learn simple visual techniques to better collaborate with others
  • Practice active listening and synthesizing skills
  • Build a foundation of visual metaphors and icons to illustrate common concepts

Training Buzz

“When I left the workshop I thanked Heather and Nora profusely.  Their facilitation approach, their interactive style, their non-judgment and their continuous encouragement were so rewarding. Based on this experience, I would give the highest recommendation possible for anyone to spend an afternoon with ImageThink to learn about how each of us is truly, deeply, already a visual thinker.”      ~ Jean Tabaka, Agile Fellow, Rally Software, Boulder, CO
