An online Smartsettle One Competition in conjunction with the 9th Annual International Forum on Online Methods for Alternative Dispute Resolution 2010 at Buenos Aires will be held shortly after the live forum. This demonstration will give you a live encounter with the latest eNegotiation technology designed for simple single-issue cases. Experience first-hand how Visual Blind Bidding and algorithms that reward good negotiating behavior virtually eliminate the tedious negotiation dance that characterizes ordinary negotiations.

Hypothetical case description: The Fortunate French-Fry Company needs to reach an agreement with the Crystal River Potato Farmers Cooperative on what percentage of its processing needs will be met by recycled water. The Cooperative say they will be forced to stop farming if the number is less than 30%, while the Company has indicated they will move out of the area if they are required to recycle more than 80%. How the competition works (Click here to read the rules in detail):

•Your negotiator role as Company or Farmers is assigned to you.
•Anonymous counterparties are paired automatically.
•Players visit their cases several times during the competition.
•Each visit takes only a few minutes.
•Each negotiator completes at least two negotiations to be eligible for scoring.
•Players have fun negotiating as many cases as they wish.

Training:

•Watch three minutes more (Farmer side (link coming soon)) to learn why you want to move early to the Zone of Agreement (link coming soon)
•Know that agreement is guaranteed if negotiators agree to the arbitration option in Final Session (link coming soon)
