Executive Director - The Resolution Center - Beatrice, Nebraska

The Resolution Center (TRC), a non-profit corporation, which provides mediation for family, business, civil, educational and other disputes for sixteen counties in south east Nebraska is seeking an Executive Director. Located in Beatrice Nebraska, TRC is one of six mediation centers approved by the Nebraska Supreme Court. TRC is funded through grants, tax-deductible donations and user fees. As the chief executive officer of the organization, the Executive Director must ensure effective collaboration with Nebraska's Office of Dispute Resolution and other state centers, and the successful and fair distribution of the Office of Dispute Resolution in all counties within the service area. The Director must also write grants and develop other funding sources for TRC’s program; ensure all Office of Dispute Resolution requirements and other grant and contract requirements are successfully met in a timely manner; develop a budget and manage TRC’s receivables and expenditures; hire, develop procedures for, and supervise TRC staff and its over 30 mediators; and through personal contacts with people in the court system and community, speaking engagements, and printed and electronic communications, ensure TRC has a visible, positive image throughout the service area.

 

The ideal candidate will have: professional integrity and knowledge of non-profit organizations; the abilities to  oversee day-to-day responsibilities associated with the Center, build and nurture on-going relationships with a wide variety of people; and work with colleagues and staff at all levels to achieve the overall goals of  the organization. The candidate should also have strong analytical, organizational, financial, and motivational skills, the ability to prepare and present concise and effective written reports, interpret and administer policy, design and implement an annual business plan, and be forward thinking and take strides to foster successful public / private partnerships within the communities we serve. Either a solid working knowledge of mediation or a strong interest in and a willingness to take training in mediation and facilitation theory and practice is required. The starting salary is $35,000 a year plus benefits; the actual salary will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.
