Good Shepherd Mediation Program is offering a 40-hour, five-day, hands-on training with nationally renowned trainer Zena Zumeta of the Mediation Training & Consultation Institute, Ann Arbor, MI.
Course description
This comprehensive, AFM-accredited mediator training program is a combination of role-play, lecture, simulation, discussion and videotapes of actual mediation. The agenda is organized to take participants through the process of divorce and custody mediation from the orientation session to the completed memorandum of understanding using the Facilitative Style of Mediation. The Academy of Family Mediators/Association for Conflict Resolution as a 40-hour comprehensive divorce mediation training program. This training may be applied toward the requirements for practitioner membership in the association. This course also meets the training requirements for Custody Court mediators in the following states:
Zena Zumeta is an attorney, mediator, trainer and facilitator. She works with organizations to assist them in helping their departments, work teams, and labor-management teams work together effectively and productively. A graduate of Smith College and the University of Michigan Law School, Zena has been a mediator since 1981, and attorney, trainer and labor negotiator since 1975, and has worked with organizations since 1971. Zena is a co-founder and past director of the Ann Arbor Mediation Center and is president of Mediation Training & Consultation Institute and The Collaborative Workplace.
Assistant Trainers: Qualified divorce and custody mediators, including Good Shepherd Mediation Program Executive Director Cheryl Cutrona, Esq., will coach the role-plays and PA practitioners will present information on PA divorce and custody laws.
Registration -- $1,500 without PA-CLE; $1,600 with PA-CLE
Participants must attend all 40 hours to receive a certificate of completion for this course. Attorneys licensed to practice in PA may pay an additional $100 to obtain 32.5 PA CLE credits (31.5 substantive and 1 ethics) for attending this class.
