The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agency that is the primary federal biomedical and health research facility is seeking the next Director of its Center for Cooperative Resolution / Office of the Ombudsman. From an office in Bethesda, MD, the position "will serve as the focal point for conflict resolution at the NIH, providing assistance to NIH scientist, administrators, and staff at all levels in addressing work related issues and concerns." The Director oversees the work of five other Ombuds. 

The search will fill a position established 17 years ago by Howard Gadlin, who retired at the end of last year. The job posting says nothing about the minimum qualifications, but it is believed that the NIH is seeking applicants with significant education and professional achievement.  The position pays $123,175-$170,400 and applications are due by May 20, 2016.(FederalGovernmentJobs.)
