Conflict Resolution Officer--United Nations Ombudsman and Mediation Services

The dispute resolution program for the UN is hiring a Conflict Resolution Officer for its headquarters in New York. The position provides informal conflict resolution services to UN staff members and other personnel, including staff in peacekeeping missions. This includes advice, identification of options, conflict coaching, shuttle diplomacy and other informal mechanisms that lead to the informal settlements of disputes.

Applicants should have an advanced degree and at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in conflict resolution or related field. Experience in conflict resolution in employment-related matters and in an international setting, and fluency in French are preferred. No salary indicated; applications are due October 24, 2011.
