California State University, Sacramento, Center for Collaborative Policy: Public Policy Lead Mediator / Facilitator

The Center is a self-supporting unit of the College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies at California State University, Sacramento.  The Center’s mission is to build the capacity of public agencies, stakeholder groups, and the public to use collaborative strategies to improve policy outcomes.  The Center designs and facilitates complex collaborative processes that result in policy actions and agreements, transformation of stakeholder relationships, and integration of collaborative processes into the public policy work of participating organizations.  For more information, see our website:  www.csus.edu/ccp  A successful applicant will be responsible for projects with a substantial degree of policy, political, and stakeholder complexity.  A Lead Mediator / Facilitator:
  • Works as a public policy mediator and facilitator on complex policy issues that engage a wide range of stakeholders by using processes such as stakeholder assessment, process design, multi-party consensus-building, dispute resolution/ mediation, public involvement, organizational change, visioning, and strategic planning;
  • Manages Center client projects.
  • Works as a trainer, coach, and strategist for clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepares and presents written materials that document, analyze, and explain collaborative public policy development to a wide range of audiences. 
  • Contributes to the overall financial and organizational health of the Center by assuming management and leadership responsibilities.               
Salary will be commensurate with demonstrated experience in public policy mediation and facilitation in the range of $6,250 and $7,083 monthly for full-time work.  Time base between 80% and 100%, as an option for the successful candidate. Time base less than full-time will be prorated.  Attractive University benefits are provided.
