Bullying has become a hot topic in academia.  What can the conflict resolution professional (specifically, the ombuds) do to help address this problem?

This is a train the trainer workshop designed to demonstrate an approach to providing members of academic communities with information and skills to deal with bullying.

In response to interest expressed on the International Ombudsman Association academic listserv, Susan Park will run quickly through her power point, video clips and participant role-plays to share what she designed in connection with her work as ombuds for the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The presentation will review variations in her presentation, targeted to various campus constituencies: administrators, faculty, white-collar staff, and buildings and grounds staff.  Susan's workshop has also been presented outside of the University of Hawaii, upon invitation by the Hawaii Supreme Court's Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution, to address bullying in the workplace.
