Associate Vice President for Diversity, Educational Equity and Ombudsperson

California State University San Marcos seeks an exceptional individual with the qualifications and experience to serve as its Associate Vice President for Diversity and Educational Equity and Ombudsperson. The associate vice president will provide counsel to the President and others on institutional matters relating to diversity and educational equity;  will provide leadership and oversight to the University's diversity and educational initiatives; continuously assess achievement of university diversity and educational equity efforts; and coordinate and assess the efforts of various campus units to increase pathways of success for all students, faculty and staff, especially those from traditionally underrepresented populations.

As ombudsperson, serves as the chief diversity officer of the University and will be the designated impartial dispute resolution administrator whose major function is to provide confidential and informal assistance to constituents of the University; an advocate for fairness in the resolution of concerns and critical situations; and supplement, but not replace, the University's existing resources for conflict resolution.

It is fifteen miles east of the ocean; just thirty miles north of downtown San Diego.
