Supervisor: The Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator is hired by the Executive Director of the Jubilee USA Network and will be directly supervised by the Jubilee USA Network National Field Organizer.

Location: Miami, Florida

Position Time Frame: This is a 2 month position that will serve the Jubilee USA Network between mid-May and mid-July 2011. Earlier start date is negotiable. Part time or Full time is also negotiable. Applicants must already be a resident of South Florida.

Summary of Responsibilities: The Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator will lead our outreach efforts in South Florida. The Advocacy and Outreach coordinator will galvanize faith communities in the South Florida region, organizing legislative meetings between Members of Congress and prominent members of the faith community. The Advocacy and Outreach coordinator will grow the Jubilee congregation’s program and organize faith communities to take action on issues of economic justice through special programming and campaigns. Ultimately, the Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator will make inroads for the establishment of a core team of activists dedicated to Jubilee’s mission of debt cancellation and economic justice.

Core Responsibilities
• Providing Timely Reporting to the National Field Organizer
• Setting up individual meetings with prominent members of the faith community
• Implementing a Field Plan for South Florida Region
• Organizing In- District Meetings with Members of Congress and staff
• Developing Relationships with civic groups, faith communities, and legislators
• Attending and Organizing Campaign events

Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree
• At least 6 months to 1 year of previous organizing experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for economic and social justice
• Able to work remotely and independently
• Able to travel to DC for training in our national office
• Knowledge of the Jewish community and the broader faith community is a plus
• Knowledge of international development and the international financial system is a plus

Compensation: Salary range is dependent on experience.
